UMB.FYI Celebrates it's 2nd Birthday with a Pulse Check

less than a minute read

Two years ago, I launched UMB.FYI with a simple goal: to make it easier to follow the heartbeat of the Umbraco community. Every week, new blog posts, packages, meetups, and releases appear — and UMB.FYI set out to capture those signals so anyone could keep up with the pace of change.

Since then, the project has grown into more than just a weekly digest. It’s become a living record of the community’s energy, its product evolution, and the conversations that matter. Looking back, I’m amazed at how much has happened in just two years — from the backoffice rewrite arriving in v14, to new HQ products like Engage and Compose, to the Umbraco MCP Server ushering in mind-blowing AI-powered workflows, and to the ever-creative stream of packages coming from the community.

🎉 Over the past couple of months, UMB.FYI has hit two big milestones: in September, we published the 100th issue of the newsletter (I wrote about that here) — and now, in October, UMB.FYI turns two years old. Together, those moments show both the consistency of the project and the strength of the Umbraco community that fuels it.

The UMB.FYI Pulse Check

To mark the birthday, I’m excited to add one more milestone: the release of the first UMB.FYI Pulse Check.

The Pulse Check is a report that takes all the data UMB.FYI has been collecting — across newsletters, releases, meetups, and marketplace updates — and turns it into a story of the past year in Umbraco. It’s not an exhaustive census, but a narrative snapshot: what sped up, what slowed down, where attention shifted, and which signals are worth watching.

Thank you to everyone who’s blogged, shipped a package, hosted a meetup, or simply shared knowledge over the past two years. UMB.FYI exists because the community produces these signals — I just help surface them.

Here’s to another year of watching the pulse of Umbraco together.

Until next time 👋
